Halbyr is an escaped slave living on the border of Arunafeltz and Schwartzvald, near to the Rune territories. He is a registered citizen of Arunafeltz, with a long backlog of paid taxes to corroborate his story.
In his spare time he participates in the raids into Schwartzvald to rescue slaves, having been saved by one such raid himself. If caught exploring (depending on the situation) a quick flash of his citizenship paperwork can usually get him out of trouble - Schwartzvald has no interest in earning Arunafeltz' ire, and Halbyr has gone out of his way to make himself an Arunafeltz citizen in good standing.
